The tenth week again delivered, with a major surprise for the Bills demonstrating the 'any given Sunday' mantra that draws so many people into the National Football League

This outcome may have opened opportunities for the New England Patriots to move back into a leading position they formerly held, with a schedule that provides them an edge over their 8-2 competitors

Over in the NFC the Seattle Seahawks and Rams had ideal outcomes to set up a monster clash in week 11, while our player of the week is chasing records as well as the Most Valuable Player award

Analysis - Simply an Off Day for Buffalo?

Josh Allen in action
Was Josh Allen attempt too much or was it just a bad day for the Bills?

Was it just an emotional comedown from defeating Kansas City last week or a deeper issue? This remains the question for the Bills to address

The Buffalo squad had won seven in a row against Miami but were second best from the start as the Miami team ran out 30-13 victors in an eye-opening outcome - and display

MVP quarterback Josh Allen only got the team's opening first down in the third period and first points in the fourth - yes the Dolphins had ten days to prepare but it was nonetheless a significant failure laid by one of the league's top offences

Tua Tagovailoa threw two scores but running back Achane was the devastating difference, with 225 total yards and two scores

Bottling up the league's best rushing attack was also key, with James Cook and company recording just 86 yards, their lowest of the year and slightly more than fifty percent their 161.5-yard season average

Then there were the three crucial turnovers, and the two from Allen specifically. An pass caught by defense in the scoring area meaning a nine minute possession produced nothing, and his fourth-quarter dropped ball that the Dolphins converted to seven points just two plays

It was typical 'old Buffalo' as they hurt themselves in the foot, falling into a hole on defensive side and Allen trying to do too much to dig his team out of it - rather than the composed, controlled, well-balanced Bills we've witnessed this season

The Dolphins have served up a varied performances this year so the jury's out on if this is the start of something, but for the Bills they'll need an instant response in a tough game against the Buccaneers next week as the New England are quietly moving into a nice lead at the top of the American Football Conference East

Spotlight - Patriots Identify Route to Surprise Top Seed

Speaking of the New England, they're one of three eight and two teams in the NFL, all American Football Conference teams, but could they be the best?

You can pick holes in New England, the Broncos and Indianapolis actually for dominating the weaker opponents, with only five of their combined twenty-four victories achieved against opponents with a winning record - and one example was the Colts defeating the Denver

Denver beat the champion Eagles in Philadelphia and are masters of the fourth-quarter while Indianapolis can rely on Taylor, but the Patriots adding Sunday's win in Tampa to their primtime win in Buffalo seems like a statement

Their two defeats came in recently appointed coach Vrabel's initial three games, with seven consecutive wins, similar to the Broncos, since then - but defeating Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a week off to get ready was huge

Maye's MVP claims continue to be discussed, and he definitely deserves point for bravery after absorbing some savage hits in Tampa Bay but hanging in there to guide his team to success

The defense is solid and rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson exploded on game day with 147 yards and two exhilerating scores of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - becoming just the fifth ball carrier to break 22mph this season on his first score

While you can argue who 'the top team' is technically, the Patriots should be favourites to finish with the best record due to their remaining opponents - which includes just one game against a successful opponent, albeit a significant contest against the Bills

Traveling to the Ravens is also tough, but Denver have it even tougher in the AFC West division with the Chiefs to face two times, the Los Angeles Chargers (who could also compete for top seed but encounter the identical challenge) and also the Green Bay on the schedule

The Colts also face the Chiefs, and have the Seahawks, 49ers and two matchups with the five and four Jaguars to face. There's a considerable distance to go but the door is open for a surprise number one position in the AFC

Next Week - Los Angeles and Seattle Prepare for Week 11 Showdown

Two teams with strong arguments to be superior to all of the three different eight and two sides are NFC West rivals the Seahawks and Rams, who both put up forty points to reach 7-2 ahead of next week's Hollywood blockbuster meeting between the two in Los Angeles

Both have won four in a consecutive games, have signal callers in Matthew Stafford and Darnold performing at an high standard (although Sam Darnold had ball security problems on Sunday) with top receivers, and defensive units giving up fewer than twenty points a contest

Each could easily be undefeated as too - especially the Rams as their pair of losses occurred in extra time against the San Francisco and then that agonising loss in Philadelphia when they had a potentially winning kick with the final play deflected and returned by the Eagles for a score

Seattle were also defeated to the 49ers, with a last-minute score in the opening week, before falling to the final play of the contest against the Buccaneers - so they're truly among the best sides in the NFL

The next matchup on Sunday could be the most exciting of the year so far

Player of the Week - Jonathan Taylor
