Following a decisive victory at the Qatar Grand Prix, the reigning world champion has dramatically narrowed the deficit in the driver's standings. Now sitting just a dozen points behind leader the British driver and in front of teammate Oscar Piastri, the stage is set for a nail-biting three-way championship battle at the renowned Yas Marina Circuit.

The incredible part of this late-season charge truly astonishing is how far he has fought back. Following the Zandvoort round in August, he was a massive over a century of points behind the then-leader his rival and had openly dismissed his title chances.

• Lando Norris will claim his debut world title if he finishes ahead of both his two rivals or secures a top-three position.
• Max Verstappen needs victory and requires that Norris finishes off the podium.
• Oscar Piastri, who is by sixteen points, has to win the race and have his teammate place outside the top five.

The intensity rests heavily on the papaya-colored cars, who have let a big points cushion disappear due to unfortunate events, including a double disqualification in Las Vegas.
