Week six of the 2025 NFL season

It's week six of the football calendar , following recent talk about two top teams as a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both lost their unbeaten records.
Striking during those contests were the amount of penalties both committed. Philadelphia did so at crucial times so they essentially defeated themselves after leading by two touchdowns entering the fourth period versus Denver, set to play overseas this weekend.
But it proved positive to observe that Denver's QB the rookie was able to have that deficit and then direct three scoring drives in three attempts during the final period, to win the victory by four points.
Denver boast the top defender with cornerback Pat Surtain II. They are first in red zone defence, whereas Philadelphia lead the league in red zone offence, yet the Broncos won that battle.
They executed the Eagles' number in terms of disguised blitzes. They weren't necessarily rushing extra defenders instead they might position two LBs in the 'A' gap before withdrawing them and send a nickel off the edge.
Early on of the season, we said on a program how the Broncos might emerge as the current year's dark horses. They ended last season well and did a good job in continuing that momentum.
Are the Denver Broncos this season's underdog story?
Recently acquired tight end their tight end has stepped up big while new running back JK Dobbins is a player the team trusts. He now ranks 5th in the NFL for rushing yards (402) as well as tied-fourth for rushing touchdowns (four).
It's impressive that the coach the Broncos' leader has "RUN IT!" prominently of his playcall sheet.
This demonstrates how the Broncos are a team that wants to prioritize the run, because one can achieve much off the back of that. It slows opposing rushes while keeps you in favourable down and distances.
It's also helped quarterback the young passer, who came into the league as the 12th overall draft pick last year, passing for 29 TDs – second only to Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 back in 2020).
Other elite QBs have the arm strength to pass anywhere, but they lack the mobility that Nix has. He boasts exceptional passing ability, which is different, and he is so athletic.
His assets are his mobility, being able to throw while moving, and finding different arm angles to deliver throws when he rolls outside protection, the bootlegs. He is able to deliver that layered pass across the middle or past defenders.
As a rookie QB, at 25, he displays a lot of poise under pressure and is not really fazed by the blitz. He tries to evade a sack whenever possible and is able throw in tight spots. He possesses sharp intelligence and remains very decisive.
When you constantly run the ball it consumes time and forces the opponent to stay on the field extended periods, and if you have an athletic quarterback the defense must defend the area vertically side to side. This proves exhausting.
The quarterback has pushed back with the coach during games at times and it seems Payton likes that fire, that he's such a competitor. In my view it's exciting for him to have a rookie QB that is similar to moldable clay. The coach can really build something up the way he desires to build it. I believe it's a unique opportunity for the coach.
The head coach has won a championship and now passed Bill Parcells in all-time victories (173, tying for 14th). He has witnessed everything. In my opinion the success Denver are experiencing offensively is mostly due to his leadership, his play-calling, his game sense – and the combination with Nix helps shape him what he is.
There's no better a more qualified person guiding you, to assist you through some of the tougher situations and build confidence.
I have faith in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. But is the team strong enough to face a top squad at full strength? Since that wasn't championship-level play from Philadelphia last Sunday.
Right now, it's unlikely Denver are elite. They're working above average, that's a solid position to hold their division. The key to do to continue this trajectory.
They excel at embracing their forte, that is the ground game, and that's precisely what they should do versus the New York Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, essentially.
New York have surrendered 140 yards on the ground per game (sixth worst), five ground scores so far (10th worst), and they are the only team without a win a game.
Since the league began tracking turnovers in 1933, this team are also the inaugural squad to be without any turnovers through five games, which is kind of shocking considering that the head coach was previously a defensive coach with another team.
The Chiefs' QB stated the Chiefs are off to a poor start following Monday's defeat to Jacksonville.
After this Sunday's game, Denver face a smooth-ish schedule up to their bye (in week 12) - the Giants, the Cowboys, the Texans plus the Raiders prior to the Chiefs.
In their division, the Chiefs are 2-3 and the Broncos are tied with the Chargers on 3-2 meaning they could challenge at leading the division.
It depends on what version Kansas City shows up they face since Denver {beat|def
